Edgar W. Pugh, Jr (e-mail)

Mr. Pugh is an attorney with 40 years experience in estate planning, probate, and corporate matters. He was recently once again named as one of the "Top Lawyers in Metro Detroit"  for 2011 by dbusiness magazine as well as a "Michigan Super Lawyer". Mr. Pugh has been a member of the Probate, Estate, and Trust Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association for more than 30 years and served as Chairman in 1983 and 1984. He has received the highest attorney rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a national attorney rating service for over 15 years. Mr. Pugh is admitted to practice before all of the Courts of the State of Michigan, the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Pugh served the 110 year old Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity in virtually all positions prior to being Elected International Chancellor of the fraternity for 1999 through 2001. Before entering private practice he worked in the Trust Department for a major regional bank.

As a representative of the Oakland County Bar Association, Mr. Pugh has served as a frequent speaker on estate planning and has given seminars on estate planning and probate avoidance to attorneys for the Oakland County Bar Association.

Mr. Pugh   served as a Chairperson of the Senior Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Michigan and in 2010-2011 served as the initial Chairperson of the 15,000 member Master Lawyers section of the State Bar.

In his community Mr. Pugh served as a member of the Board of Directory of New Horizons Rehabilitation Centers where he was chairman of the Personnel committee , The  Birmingham Family YMCA and The Long Range Planning Committee for Lighthouse of Oakland County. He also served as a board member and President of the Birmingham Optimist Club.  Mr. Pugh served on several committees for Beverly Hills Michigan where he resides. He also was elected to the Village Council of Beverly Hills and as  Village President.

Mr. Pugh and his wife of 45 years, Sharon,  live in Beverly Hills, Mi. They are both very proud of their two attorney daughters and their families.


Diana P. Moak (e-mail)

Ms. Moak is an Attorney with over 10 years experience in Estate Planning, Probate and Corporate matters. She has been a Member of the Race Judicata and Probate, Estate and Trust Committees of the Oakland County Bar Association for 12 years. Ms. Moak is knowledgeable in estate planning, probate and trust administration, real estate matters, and business succession planning. Ms. Moak participates in several seminars each year to keep current on issues relating to estate planning and probate practice. She has also published an article relating to irrevocable trusts in the Oakland County Bar Association's magazine, Latches, and an article in the Adelphia Law Review.  She is currently President of Friends of Different Learners.

Additionally, Ms. Moak is certified as an ADR Mediator, and Special Ed Mediator, and is on the list of Approved Mediators for Oakland County for General Civil and Probate Matters. She also volunteers as a Mediator for the Wayne Mediation Center and Oakland Mediation Center.

Ms. Moak is a Partner with the law firm of Pugh Moak P.C. This firm was founded by Ms. Moak's Grandfather in 1934, and remains a family business, as Ms. Moak now practices with her father, Edgar W. Pugh, Jr. Ms. Moak lives in Beverly Hills, Michigan with her husband and two children.


Albert E. Moehlman (e-mail)

Mr. Moehlman has been associated as an attorney with Pugh Moak P.C. for 51 years. Prior to this association he was a consultant with Lybrand Ross & Montgomery (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and an auditor with the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Moehlman, who also served in the Navy, limits his practice to tax related matters. He is extremely proud of the accomplishments of his wife of 55 years, Ruth, and their four daughters.


Daniel W. Burlingame  (Sharing Space) 

Shortly after graduating from the Business School, University of Michigan, Mr. Burlingame joined the Trust Department, Manufacturers National Bank. He rose to Vice President and Trust Officer in the Personal Trust section. After graduating from Detroit College of Law he became a solo practitioner as Daniel W. Burlingame, PC. He is an AV rated attorney maintaining his solo practice.
Mr. Burlingame has served as Chairman, Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan; President, University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit;President Bloomfield Hills Rotary; and Elder, Presbyterian Church. He is a member of the Probate and Estate Planning Councils, Michigan State and Oakland County Bar Associations.
Mr. Burlingame and his wife of over 50 years, Beverly, live on their Centennial Farm near Ann Arbor and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren

 

Edgar W. Pugh (1900-1991)

Pugh Moak P.C. was founded by Mr. Pugh 77 years ago.

Mr. Pugh was a preeminent tax attorney, counsel to the State Board of Accountancy and a former IRS agent.


 
 

Cara J. Rippett, Office Manager (e-mail)

Mrs. Rippett has been with Pugh Moak P.C. for 32 years. She runs the office and works with all of the attorneys. Mrs. Rippett obtained her Associates Degree at Oakland Community College and Bachelors Degree at Oakland University while working for Pugh Moak P.C.  Mrs. Rippett and her husband of 19 years, Colin,  live in White Lake.
